Please No Wrinkles

A Prayer for You....

Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles, please no bags
And please lift my butt before it sags.
Please no age spots, please no gray-
And, as for my belly, please take it away.
Please keep me healthy, please keep me young-
And, thank you Dear Lord for all that you've done!

Dear God

Dear God,

Please grant me the strength to carry on, and the patience to try again when things go wrong. Shine your guiding light on me to open my eyes when I can't see.

Please give me the ability to see beauty, where others see none. Allow me the hope of a new dream waiting to be dreamed, the chance to reach out and the wisdom to look forward to a new tomorrow.

Let me accept what I cannot change, and change all that's within my control. Teach me your ways as I walk through life, so I may learn and live it right

If granted these prayers, I promise to obey, and cherish your creations & all that come my way. Amen.

Faithfully yours,
A Devoted Follower

EASTER MIRACLES
by: ©Sandra S. Oidtman - 2005

The miracles of Easter,
Are there for us to see;
But we often miss them,
In all our jubilee.

There was found to be a donkey,
At a doorway he was tied;
The disciples walked away with him,
Their Lord, he did not lie.

There also was a fig tree,
No fruit it gave our Lord;
So He cursed the little tree,
No fruit it ever bore.

What about a man,
Who carried a water jar;
He was found in Jerusalem,
A city wide and far.

The city was filled with men,
Yet this one the disciples found;
The Lord had said to follow,
And the Passover would be sound.

The greatest miracle of Easter,
Was the love of Jesus, our Lord;
He gave His life for all of us,
And again opened heaven's door.

He was the victor over death,
As He arose from His grave;
So Easter celebrates His love,
And all of the mercy He gave

Alleluia! He Lives!!

Easter Story Snack Mix

Share these symbolic treat bags with your friends and neighbors.
1. Mix equal amounts of ingredients in large bowl.
2. Put into fun bags or plastic eggs with the poem below.
The Cross where Jesus died,
The love for you He felt inside,
The stone He rolled away,
The life He brings today.

Easter is a gift, it's true,
A special present from God to you.
We hope you enjoy this special treat,
That makes this Holy day extra sweet!

This poem first appeared in the March 2013 issue of Clubhouse magazine.

The Stump

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of passage?

His dad takes him into the forest blindfolded and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not take off the blindfold until the ray of sun shines through it.

He is all by himself.

He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.
He cannot tell the other boys of this experience. Each lad must come into his own manhood.

The boy in our story was, naturally, terrified. Her could hear all kinds of noise. Beasts were all around him. Maybe even a human would hurt him. The wind blew the grass and earth and it shook his stump. But he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold.

It would be the only way he could be a man.

Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he saw his father sitting on the stump next to him - at watch the entire night.

We, too, are never alone.
Even when we don’t know it, God is watching over us, Sitting on the stump beside us.
When trouble comes,all we have to do is reach out to Him

Moral of the story:
Just because you can’t see God,
Doesn’t mean He is not there.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

"I will never fail you. I will never abandon you."
- God (Hebrews 13:5)

F.A.S.T.

I was talking with a friend about truth. We talked about acceptanceThen the conversation led to forgiveness, then surrender. The acronym FAST came to mind because sometimes a person sees a word that reminds them of things, so we wanted
to share this acronym. We pray that you understand these things. This is the order that we feel is necessary to accomplish these things. ~ Pastor Buck
F = Forgiveness
The word to forgive is an essential part of
the Christian faith. The bible says that
to be forgiven, we must forgive those who
have done things to us. Sometimes that's
really hard, but really it's true and does
make sense. When we let resentment build
within us, then it will eat us up and cause
guilt.

A = Acceptance
ACCEPTANCE is another word that seems
to cause us problems. Just the thought
of accepting things that seem to bother
us or things that cause us problems,
seems very difficult to do. Sometimes
we have to come to a time of accepting
that GOD is in control, and that HE
will take care of the things that HE
has shown us in HIS Word. Sometimes
this really stinks, because we don't
understand why. If we're trying to
live as HE tells us, then why are we
experiencing these things? Pray about
acceptance and see what GOD will do, in
HIS time frame.

S=Surrender
Surrender is a thing that's really hard.
To surrender means to completely give
ourselves to GOD, to let GOD come into
our lives and take control. Surrender
could be explained like this. Imagine
if we were taking a trip and I decided
to drive your vehicle. We were going
to a destination that you know. As we
started, I headed in the opposite
direction. In order to get where we
needed to be, I would have to stop and
let you take control of the vehicle,
because you were the only one who knew
the way. This is the same with GOD.
HE knows the way. We need to give HIM
control of our lives. That is surrender.

T = Truth
TRUTH is the very thing that we have
to start with, in order to accomplish
any of the other things. The TRUTH is
that GOD sent JESUS CHRIST, the TRUE
AND LIVING SON OF GOD, that we could
have life more abundantly.

+ + + + + + + + +

F.A.S.T. is designed to help you remember  the four words and what they represent.
You also need to realize that some things must happen before another can take place.
We feel that you must have TRUTH, then you must have ACCEPTANCE. Then you must have FORGIVENESS. Last but not least, because they all tie together is SURRENDER. As you do things, also understand that you are fighting satan. He does not want any of  this to take place, because he want you to feel guilt and worthlessness. HE wants you to feel all of the other defeating things that he has to offer.

The Diary of a Bible - Was it Yours ?

January 15
Been resting quietly for a week.
The first few nights after the first of the year
my owner read me regularly, but he has forgotten me,
I guess.

February 2
Clean-up. I was dusted with other things and put back in my place.

February 12
Owner used me for a short time after dinner,
looking up a few references.
 Went to Sunday School.

March 7
Clean-up. I am dusted and in my old place again.
I have been down in the lower hall since my trip to Sunday School.

April 12
Busy day. Owner led league meeting and had to look up references.
He had an awful time finding one,
though it was right there in its place all the time.

May 5
In Grandma's lap all afternoon. She is here on a visit.
She let a teardrop fall on Colossians 2:5-7.

May 6
In Grandma's lap again this afternoon.
She spent most of her time on 1 Corinthians 13 and
the last four verses of the 15th chapter.

May 7,8,9
In grandma's lap every afternoon now. It's a comfortable spot.
Sometimes she reads me and sometimes she talks to me.

May 10
Grandma gone. Back in the old place. She kissed me good-bye.

June 3
Had a couple of four leafed clovers stuck in me today.

July 1
Packed in a trunk with clothes and other things.
Off on vacation, I guess.

July 7
Still in the trunk.

July 10
Still in the trunk, though nearly everything else has been taken out.

July 15
Home again and in my old place.
It was quite a journey, but I don't see why I went.

August 1
Rather stuffy and hot,
I have two magazines, a novel, and an old hat on top of me.
Wish they would take them off.

August 12
Dusted and set right again.

August 20
Used by Mary a few moments today.
She was writing a letter to a friend whose brother had died,
and wanted an appropriate verse.

August 31
Clean-up again.

He Gives Me Peace

At the end of a troubling day,
My Lord can help me find my way;
He can quiet a pounding sea,
So I know His peace will find me.

His joy is deep down in my soul,
He pulls it out to soothe me so;
Once I cried many a tear,
But He then quieted all my fear.

Joy fills my heart day and night,
For He paid the price, fought my fight;
My soul He saved from the devil's hand,
Accept Him now, every woman and man.

He gives me peace when the night is long,
He gives me peace when troubles are strong;
He quiets the storms that rage within me,
In His sight I'll always be.

My Dear Friend
May God grant you many,
 many years to live;
For sure He must be knowing

all too few and Heaven

And, until we meet again,
may God keep you

Here Wit'in God's Garden

I watched you in the garden
In pretty pastel hue,
In every tender leaf of dew,
I touch the life of you.

I saw you in the blossoms,
The tinge of life you send,
Your vibrancy and color,
My special life long friend.

I saw you in the flying birds
Their cheery, chatter, call
'Twas you close by to hear,
Singing to my soul.

I saw you in the butterfly,
Flitting to and fro,
With happy carefree heart,
The angel friend I know.

I saw you in the puppy,
The loyalty and mind,
To always be so very near,
Gentle, loving, kind.

I saw you in the empty chair
Beside me in the sun,
I heard your softest whisper,
Your presence, only love.

I saw you in the clover
Each leaf and curling frond,
Yes, here wit'in God's garden
Your heart I always hold.

The Parable Of True Love

The old woman sat on the antique rattan rocking chair.  Her eyeglasses were perched precariously on her nose as she concentrated on her sewing chores.  A gentle breeze swept the wisp of whitish hair on her temples.

Beside her sat her teen-age granddaughter.  She was like a fresh flower recently bloomed.  Without warning she suddenly blurted out, "Lola, why is true love so difficult to find?"

The old woman with a kindly face stopped sewing and touched her granddaughter's head affectionately.  After a moment, the young girl cuddled closer, resting her head on the old woman's lap.

"Listen and I will tell you why," began the grandmother.

"Many centuries ago, when the world was young, true love existed everywhere.  It was available for the asking.  Because of this, men and women took true love for granted, so God decided to keep true love."  She stopped and smiled as she gently stroked the young girl's soft tresses.  "God asked a pair of angels to keep true love."

"First, they buried true love in the ground.  But man and woman easily dug it out.  Next, the angels took true love to the highest mountain.  But again, man and woman easily climbed to the top. Then the angels submerged true love in the deepest sea.  Man and woman swam to the bottom of the body of water and with ease retrieved true love."

"So true love is easy to find," commented the young girl.  "For man and woman will dig, climb and swim."

"Yes ... but finally the angels kept true love in the hearts of man and woman.  Since then, people have had difficulty searching for true love.  For they look everywhere except in the one place that they should keep it."

Trucker Prayer Poems

----------------------

Dear God above bless this truck I drive

And help me keep someone alive

Be my mortal sight this day

On streets where little children play

Bless my helper fast asleep

When the night is long and deep

And keep my cargo safe and sound

Through the hours big and round

Make my judgment sound as steel

And be my hands upon the wheel

Bless the traveler going past

And teach him not to go so fast

Give me the strength for every trip

So I may care for what they ship

And make me mindful every mile

That life is just a little while

AMEN

Caffeine Prayer

Caffeine is my shepherd; I shall not doze.

It maketh me to wake in green pastures, it leadeth me beyond the sleeping masses.

It restoreth my buzz,it leadeth me in the paths of consciousness for its name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of addiction, I will fear no Equal.

For thou art with me; thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me.

Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of Juan Valdez, thou anointest my day with pep; my mug runneth over.

Surely richness and taste shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the House Of Folgers forever.

Amen

Heart Full Of Love

I know a Man of days gone by,
Who has a heart full of love;
He once lived on this earth,
But now, He's in heaven above.

The love of this Man's heart,
Brought Him to live with us;
He was born in a chilly stable,
A king with no fuss.

He lived and He taught,
Of the Father He knew;
He showed us the way
But followers weren't true.

His heart full of love,
He hung on a cross;
He died in much pain,
So we could have what we lost.

On the third day, He arose,
He appeared to many of that time;
He asks us to believe in Him,
Our confession and belief are prime.

Jesus' heart is full of love,
It has always been that way;
He suffered and died for you and me,
So we could be with Him one day.

History Of St. Valentine

"So I happen to be a single woman, and as you can imagine, Valentine’s Day can feel like a lonely day, especially because it’s a holiday that is marketed towards people who are in romantic relationships.  It may seem that I have no business talking about the patron saint of this holiday.  However, what if I told you that the founder of Valentine’s Day was a single man, who was a priest and later a saint named Valentine?" - AMYEMSAL23

B.I.B.L.E

The Bible is basic instructions before leaving earth. These are the instructions we are to learn and to live while on earth, so we are prepared for eternal life when we leave earth.

The "B-I-B-L-E"
(Words and Music by Lewis G. Scharpf, Jr.)

AUDIO SAMPLE(MIDI)

VERSE 1
The B-I-B-L-E you see,
It is God's word for you and me,
It tells us what and how we ought to be.
The B-I-B-L-E you see,
It covers life from A to Z,
The B-I-B-L-E's for you and me.

REFRAIN
It tells about our Father,
It tells of our creator,
It tells about the ruler,
Of all the earth.
It tells about a carpenter,
Some even called Him Master,
Who came to be our savior,
Who gives new birth.

VERSE 2
The B-I-B-L-E's for you,
Its testaments both old and new,
Was written by men through,
The God they knew.
The B-I-B-L-E for you,
It helps you think those problems through,
The B-I-B-L-E for our world too.

REFRAIN
It tells about our Father,
It tells of our creator,
It tells about the ruler,
Of all the earth.
It tells about a carpenter,
Some even called Him Master,
Who came to be our savior,
Who gives new birth.

VERSE 3
The B-I-B-L-E's to read,
The book that guides all those in need,
Our hearts and minds its words will always feed,
The truth in written form to heed,
In order that the Lord might lead,
The B-I-B-L-E God's word indeed.

REFRAIN
It tells about our Father,
It tells of our creator,
It tells about the ruler,
Of all the earth.
It tells about a carpenter,
Some even called Him Master,
Who came to be our savior,
Who gives new birth.

P.U.S.H

A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light and the Lord told the man he had work for him to do and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin.

The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. So, this the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down. His shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all of his might.

Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.

Since the man was showing discouragement, the Adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the weary mind, “You have been pushing against that rock for a long time and it hasn't moved.’’ Thus, giving the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man. Satan said, “Why kill yourself over this?"

“Just put in your time, giving just the minimum effort and that will be good enough."

That’s what he planned to do, but decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his troubled thoughts to the Lord. “Lord," he said, “I haw labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong? Why am I failing?"

The Lord responded compassionately, “My Servant, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted. I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all of your strength which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed.

 But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, your legs haw become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have.

 Yet you haven’t moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. This you haw done. Now I, my servant, will move the rock."

At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is just a simple obedience and faith in Him. By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves mountains.
