These are the ten precepts to which Our Lord referred when He said: "If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments" (Matt., xix. 17).

There are two main principles of all the Commandments, namely, love of God and love of neighbor. The man that loves God must necessarily do three things:  (1) he must have no other God. And in support of this is the Commandment:

"Thou shalt not have strange gods";  (2) he must give God all honor. And so it is commanded: "Thou shalt not take the name of God in vain";  (3) he must freely take his rest in God. Hence: "Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath day."

But to love God worthily, one must first of all love one's neighbor. And so: "Honor thy father and mother." Then, one must avoid doing harm to one's neighbor in act. "Thou shalt not kill" refers to our neighbor's person;  "Thou shalt not commit adultery" refers to the person united in marriage to our neighbor; "Thou shalt not steal" refers to our neighbor's external goods. We must also avoid injury to our neighbor both by word, "Thou shalt not bear false witness," and by thought, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods" and "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife."

Whispers From Heaven

They say that life is fleeting
I know that this is true
I left this world so quickly
With no goodbye to you.
I know how much you miss me
Your tears fall ever light
The pillow where you lay your head
Is wet with them at night.

I know your heart is hurting
The words we left, unsaid
I love you’s left unspoken
Are spinning in your head.
The strength that I have carried
That served to make you whole
Remains to make you stronger
Within your grieving soul.

For you see, while you were weeping
On the day I passed away
At the gravesite near the flowers
Where my loved ones knelt to pray.
An angel came to see me
She took me by the hand
She led me to a kingdom
In a very distant land.

As I look down from the heaven
And see you standing there
Your heart so ever burdened
With more weight than it can bear.
I long to bring you comfort
I long to give you peace
I long to hold you closely
Cause all your tears to cease.

The joy I’ve found in heaven
Goes far beyond compare
The love that’s so elusive
Can be found here everywhere.
The light is softly shining
There’s no storm clouds here or rain
There’s no teardrops found in heaven
There’s no suffering, there’s no pain.

You needn’t be so troubled
Stay close to God and pray
That someday we’ll be together
One bright and glorious day.
So my love, you shouldn’t question
My dear you need not cry
I’ve gone to be with Jesus
I really didn’t die.

The Beatitudes for Kids

... But just what are the Beatitudes?

The Beatitudes are from the Sermon on the Mount and are blessings spoken by Jesus. In total there are 8 Kids Beatitudes. And I think that they’re a good guideline for how to live life.

When Jesus was a grown-up, He traveled to many towns teaching people about God. One day he sat on a high hill, so that the large crowd could see and hear him better. The things he said that day are called "The Sermon On The Mount". One part of this we call the "Beatitudes" Jesus used some big words but here is an idea of what he tought his people.

Blessed are those who know they need God.

Blessed are those who feel sad; God will help them feel happy again.

Blessed are those who are humble and do not brag or put others down.

Blessed are those who want to do as God would want them to do.

Blessed are those who forgive.

Blessed are those who try to do what is fair and act peacefully.

Blessed are those who are treated badly because they believe in Jesus; God will take care of them.

Diary Of A Bible

JANUARY: A busy time for me. Most of the family decided to read me through this year. They kept me busy for the first 2 weeks, but they have forgotten me now.

FEBRUARY: Clean-up time. I was dusted yesterday and put in my place. My owner did use me for a few minutes last week. He had been in an argument and was looking up some references to prove he was right.

MARCH: I had a busy day the first of the month. My owner was elected president of the P.T.A., and he used me to prepare a speech.

APRIL: Grandpa visited us this month. He kept me on his lap for an hour reading 1 Corinthians 13. He seems to think more of me than do some people in my own household.

MAY: I hae a few green stains on my pages. Some spring flowers were pressed in my pages.

JUNE: I look like a scrapbook. They have stuffed me full of newspaper clippings - one of the girls was married.

JULY: They put me in a suitcase today. I guess we are off on vacation. I wish I could stay home; I know I'll be closed up in this thing for at least 2 weeks.

AUGUST: Still in the suitcase.

SEPTEMBER: Back home at last and in my old familiar place. I have a lot of company. Two women's magazines and four comic books are stacked on top of me. I wish I could be read as much as they are.

OCTOBER: They read me a little bit today. One of them is very sick. Right now I am sitting in the center of the coffee table. I think the pastor is coming by for a visit.

NOVEMBER: Back in my old place. Somebody asked today if I am a scrapbook.

DECEMBER: The family is busy getting ready for the holidays. I guess I'll be covered up under wrapping paper, and packages again - just as I am every Christmas.

It is a great privilege that we should have such a precious Book at our fingertips.  We should never look at reading the Bible as a chore, but rather we are to do it with a renewed excitement in knowing that we will receive wisdom, insight and understanding that is beyond anything this world can offer.  We need to remind ourselves that there is healing, prosperity, peace, strength and wisdom that is available to us any time we open up and read the Holy Bible.

M.O.R.A.L.S

Here is one example of an acrostic for the word morality.

M morality,
O opens,
R Rational,
A attitude towards,
L life,
I in,
T tempting and
Y youth.

What is reflective morality?

Reflective morality is the internalized version of right and wrong from the elements of our upbringing. Reflective morality can include both religious morality, customary morality, and empathy.

A man loses little when he loses his wealth,
A man loses more when he loses his health,
But there is one thing that if lost will make him fall,
Morality, for when he loses that he loses it all,

For morality is the very foundation of our humanity,
And without it society will inevitably sink into insanity,
Morality is our greatest distinction from animals and machines,
Morality is the key element of great leaders, kings and queens,

Where would we be without morality to guide mankind?
Would we be mindless animals with hearts so blind?
Would we still have kindness and compassion within?
Or would we simply lead a reckless life of crime and sin?

Without a sense of morality mankind would be lost,
We would commit to many cruelties like the holocaust,
If we are unable to differentiate between wrong and right,
How can mankind possibly achieve a future so bright?

Morals, Morality and Ethical Direction…

We often hear of morals, morality and ethical direction.
What they mean, I suppose, is “one’s discretion.”

Very seldom, is anything from the Bible being heard.
Why obey God’s commandments? Why, that’s absurd!

Many claim, that as adults, just about anything is “o.k.”
As long as you don’t do what they do, but what they say!

Many are “bombarded” with sexual type of temptations…
Often leading many to get into perverse addictions!

We set up boards of people to try to be “ethically clean.”
When it comes down to it…
What does this really mean?

Can a person be totally immoral, but 100% ethical?’
Does this, in some way, seem kind of “heretical?”

Why believe in God? He’s been ruled
“unconstitutional.”
While many listen to the news,
which is often “delusional!”

We hear of perversions, that are often “glorified.”
Do we hear of those wanting
to be Godly sanctified?

If you’re confused, and need some kind of spiritual guide!
Look to God’s word! He has nothing to hide!

The kind of morality and ethics that you’ll ever need…
Can be found in the Bible! Open it and read!

Why not read from Genesis through Revelation?
We can all find what we need! Across our nation!

God and his word give us a true moral compass for living!
His life for our own lives, is what he’s freely giving!

Won’t you come to Jesus for godly direction today?
He is here! And wants to help you find HIS way!
