"Special Jar Of Just Dad's Pennies"
which we have found when he is thinking of us and watchin over us *S*
We have all seen those pennies lying on the ground but until we lose someone we love... do they truly increase in their value ...
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.
Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what do you see?"
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma.
The daughter then asked. "What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity--boiling water--but each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.
The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.
The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart? Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor.
If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate to another lever?
How do you handle adversity?
Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?

I've got so many things to ask.
Got a minute to chat with me . . .
and make this moment last?
You hung the moon
and tossed the stars
into the heavens wide.
And yet you still will have the time . . .
to sit here by my side.
how did you think of those?
And how did you know that I would need
ten tiny little toes . . .
and planned out all my days . . .
When my debt you also paid.
the fish that swim the seas . . .
and ice cream, chocolate, taffy
and chewy jelly beans.
for oh so very long . . .
I guess I just forgot to call
for you are always home.
are everywhere to see.
Each created by your hand
and put here just for me.
while building castles in your sand . . .
and eating apples from your trees
that it all came from your loving hand.
and I know that you are there,
do you mind if I call you up
to tell you that I care?
to spend some time with you.
For I've discovered it's one of
my favorite things to do.
Hello, God . . . are you there? I've got so many things to ask. Got a minute to chat with me . . . and make...
Angels carry high-beam lights to help you through the darkest hours.
I'm smaller than your thumb;
I live in people's pockets
That's where I have my fun.
I don't suppose you've seen me,
I'm too tiny to detect:
Though I'm with you all the time,
I doubt we've ever met.
Before I was an Angel...
I was a fairy in a flower:
God, himself, hand-picked me,
And gave me Angel power.
Now, God has many Angels that
He trains in Angel pools:
We become His eyes, and ears, and hands
We become His special tools.
And because God is so busy,
With way too much to do;
He said that my assignment
Is to keep close watch on you,
When He tucked me in your Pocket
He blessed you with Angel care;
Then told me to never leave you,
And I vowed always to be there.
"Keep a spare angel in your pocket" Angels carry high-beam lights to help you through the darkest hours. I a...

After a day of heavy fighting the Chaplain had set up church service.
The men were asked to take out their bibles or prayer books.
The Chaplain noticed one soldier looking at a deck of cards.
After the service, he was taken by the Chaplain to see the Major.
The Chaplain explained to the Major what he had seen.
The Major told the young soldier that he would have to be punished
if he could not explain himself. The young soldier told the Major
that during battle he had neither a bible or prayer book
so he would use his deck of cards . He explained...
it tells me that there is one God and no other.
* When I see the 2,
it reminds me there are two parts of the Bible,
the Old and New Testaments.
* The 3 tells me of the Trinity of God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
* The 4 reminds me of the four Gospels
- Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
* When I see the 5 it tells me of the
five unwise virgins who were lost then were saved.
* The 6 makes me mindful that God
created the earth in just six days,
* and God said that it was good,
so He rested on the 7th day.
* The 8 reminds me that God
destroyed all life by water except eight people.
There was Noah and his wife,
their three sons and their wives.
* When I see the 9
I think of the nine lepers that God healed.
* The 10 tells me of the Ten Commandments
carved in stone by the hand of God.
* The Jack makes me remember the prince of darkness,
like a roaring lion that devours those he can.
* When I look at the Queen
I see blessed Mary, Mother of Jesus.
* As I look at the last card I see the King
which reminds me Jesus is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

Afterall we all are not perfect and I thought I would add this one as it does show me that even those so close do also have faults and are entitled to a few minor mistakes knowing we are forgiven for them.A new priest at his first mass was so nervous he could hardly speak. After mass he asked the monsignor how he had done.
The monsignor replied, "When I am worried about getting nervous on the pulpit, I put a glass of vodka next to the water glass. If I start to get nervous, I take a sip."
So next Sunday he took the monsignor's advice. At the beginning of the sermon, he got nervous and took a drink. He proceeded to talk up a storm. Upon his return to his office after mass, he found the following note on the door:
Thanks For Visiting

Lord of the Universe. Lord of this planet. Lord of the nations. Lord of our hearts. On this National Day of Prayer, we look to You…
In the darkness, You are our Light.
In the storm, You are our Anchor.
In our weakness, You are our Strength. In our grief, You are our Comfort.
In our despair, You are our Hope.In our confusion, You are our Wisdom. In time of terrorism, You are our Shield. In time of war, You are our Peace.
In times of uncertainty, You are the Rock on which we stand. We make our prayer to You using the words of the prophet Daniel:O Lord, You are the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and keep His commandments. You are merciful and forgiving. You are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame because we have sinned against You, and done wrong. We have turned away from Your commands and principles. We have turned away from You.Yet You have promised in 2 Chronicles 7, that if we–a people identified with You–would humble ourselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways, then You would hear our prayer, forgive our sin and heal our land.So we choose to stop pointing our finger at the sins of others, and examine our own hearts and lives. We choose to acknowledge our own sin–our neglect and defiance and ignorance and even rejection of You. This day we choose to repent. In response to our heartfelt repentance, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Father of Jesus Christ, in keeping with all Your righteous acts and according to Your promise, turn away Your anger and Your wrath from the United States of America. Hear the prayers and petitions offered to You on this National Day of Prayer, as we give You our full attention. Give ear, our God, and hear; open Your eyes and see. We do not make requests of You because we are righteous, but because of Your great mercy. For the glory of Your Name hear our prayer, forgive our sin, and heal our land.We ask this in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ who offers us salvation from Your judgment, forgiveness for our sin, and reconciliation with You through His own blood shed on the Cross. Amen.
