Despite all the unsupported theories that have been floating around recently, Jesus Christ never married for a very good reason: He had a saving mission to accomplish and marriage would have complicated and interfered with that. Jesus traveled extensively throughout Israel. He couldn't be hampered by supporting a wife and children, and it would have been inconvenient--and sometimes dangerous--for them to accompany him. Jesus Was Single Too
Nobody understands singles like Jesus -When it comes to your problems, frustrations, sickness or doubts, nobody understands like Jesus. Because Jesus was fully man, he experienced the human emotions and pain you feel... Doctor Jesus Doctor Jesus wants to heal you Have you ever been to a doctor? Of course you have. But have you ever been treated by Doctor Jesus? Maybe we don't use that title for him, but he told us that he is a doctor: "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentence." (Luke 5:31-32) .... Why Jesus appreciates you Jesus appreciates you: Good to remember when life gets lonely. As a believer, you know that Jesus loves you. But have you ever considered that Jesus appreciates you too? You make many sacrifices for God. You do your best to obey his Commandments, you treat others with dignity and respect, you do your best to be honest and truthful... Jesus the supermodel Jesus the supermodel: a life worth imitating Jesus the supermodel. Does the phrase sound blasphemous? Disrespectful? If you consider the dictionary definition of model: "a person or thing considered as a standard of excellence to be imitated," then Jesus Christ is not only a model, he's a supermodel... Why Jesus loves underachievers Even if you skim the New Testament, you'll see that Jesus loves underachievers. Oh, they didn't call them that in his time. They were the poor, the sick, the prostitutes, and anyone else who was scorned by polite society. But Jesus doesn't love people for their accomplishments. He loves them for their faith. As a single person, you may reach a stage--as I did--when you look back and think your life hasn't amounted to much... Jesus enjoyed life Jesus enjoyed life, family and friends The Gospels do not portray a sad, melancholy Savior. Jesus enjoyed life and loved to be surrounded by people. Meals were a time for stories and conversation. His critics thought it undignified for him to like a good time. He said, "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and 'sinners'. But wisdom is proved right by her actions." (Mt. 11:19) What are we to make of this? Is there a lesson here for the rest of us to follow?... |
