On the fifth day of Christmas, we celebrate a saint named ... St. Thomas Beckett As the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas called the King of England to account and was martyred 1170. He was Archbishop of Canterbury in the 12th century and was murdered on 29th December 1170 for challenging the King’s authority over the Church.
