Button Prayers: How to pray with buttons

If you are looking for a way of praying in a small group or even with the whole congregation, then this suggestion from FlameCreativeKids might be for you! You will need: A collection of buttons of different shapes, sizes and colours- at least one button for each person praying. Give everyone a button. 1. - Feel the hardness of the button and think about people who are going through hard times. Ask God to help them. Buttons are used to fasten clothes together. Ask God to bring together people who have fallen out and moved apart from each other. Pray that He will bring peace. 2. - Find someone who has the same colour button as you. You might want to make a small group of people with the same colour. Say thank you to God for families. Ask God to bless them and help them to live together and to love each other 3. - Look at your button and see how many holes it has. Think of that number of things you would like to say thank you to God for and say Thank you prayers. 4. - Look at the color of the button and say thank you to God for something that is that color 5. - Find someone who has a different button to you (it could be different in shape, size or color) Thank God for making everyone different and giving us all different gifts. Pray for the person you have found. Ask Them what they would like God to help them with.

The Doctor's Daughter

One day Geronimo was doing some chores around Make Believe Land. He was in a hurry because he did not want that finicky angel to come and criticize his efforts to be neat. She was a nice enough angel but had a way of getting on peoples nerves because she was a control freak. He was sprucing up the Lollypop trees when he heard sobs from down on earth. He grabbed his fairy wings and was on his way for it sounded like a child. He found a little girl who was sobbing and as softly as possible he tried to get her attention. But she was crying so loudly she did not hear Geronimo, finally he had to raise his voice, of course this startled her. "Who are you" she asked with a trace of fear on her lips. Geronimo tipped his hat like a dandy gent and introduced himself as an emissary from the Boss upstairs (The Lord). He was authorized to solve problems, work a little magic and help the Angels restore world peace. By the way he mentioned that Angel's are terrific. Now it was her turn "What is your name, and what is your problem?" "I am Elsa, my Daddy is a doctor and I am afraid that he has forgotten something very important. I know he is very busy but he promised me that he would come to the Father/Daughter Dance at my school." "I am in the seventh grade and this is so special, for we are having a dinner, and have learned how to waltz with our Dads." Geronimo reassured her that her father surely would not forget such an important thing. He also hinted he might be able to find out for sure. He did not want to tell her that he had a sneaky way of getting adults to do the really important stuff. She smiled and quipped "Oh sure??" like she really didn't believe him. With this Geronimo was off to visit the girls father. He set his Garman for the doctors office. Luckily the man was alone with his head in his hands trying to catch his breath. This made it easy for Geronimo to crawl up his pant leg, onto his arm and on to the neck so he could capture the Doctors ear. He began to whisper in his ear and with that the hand caught him and sent him flying to the floor. The Doctor said "Darn flys". With determination Geronimo started again and this time when he reached the desk he scribbled on a pad (prescription pad). The man picked up the pad to make out what was written and could not make it out. He was sure it was a note he had written to remind him of something vital. It was then he remembered about Elsa and the Father/Daughter affair at school. Oh my word, he gasped. With this he left rapidly to make up the time. Geronimo sat back satisfied he had done the right thing for Elsa. He was getting ready to catch a moonbeam home but had a few hours to kill so he went into the nearest church to gather his thoughts in order to explain to God about these happenings. It was then he felt a tap on his hat. To his surprise it was Elsa. He started to speak but noticed her finger up to her lips like shush. She whispered that her father had a call from the minister and he had to stop but they were going to the school right afterward. With this she whispered to Geronimo, "You see we know your Boss (the Lord) and come to see him every week." Geronimo watched her walk away and blew her a kiss, He was ready to go home now. © Carol Oliver
